IdealStaffs is looking for a Senior Ruby Developer to support one of our international clients. The successful candidate will bring strong enterprise development experience, including a minimum of two years working with the Ruby on Rails framework in a Behaviour/Test Driven Development environment. Experience building APIs for Ruby on Rails applications is required, and contributions to open-source projects are considered an asset.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of professional development experience, including:
At least 2 years hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails using Behaviour/Test Driven Development methodologies.
Demonstrated experience handling support tickets, delivering timely solutions, and maintaining clear feedback loops with stakeholders.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails and modern web development technologies.
Solid understanding of UNIX/Linux systems administration.
Experience working with container technologies such as Kubernetes.
Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with TCP/IP (v4) networking.
Hands-on experience with:
Configuration Management
VMware ESX virtualization
PostgreSQL 9.x administration
GIT version control
Nginx / HAProxy load balancing
Comfortable working across Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows environments.
