IdealStaffs Consulting is looking for a Network Engineer with extensive experience with WAN, Voice and Datacenter operations to provide on-going support and maintenance operations for its client, a United Nations international organization located in Brindisi, Italy.


  • On-call required one week/month (rotation depends on the number of team members);

  • Working on site in Brindisi, Italy 3 days per week;


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the ICT Infrastructure WAN and Data Center infrastructure.

  • Manage and maintain configurations of routers, switches, firewalls, voice gateways and monitoring and management tools.

  • Test the deployment of WAN and Data Center solutions as well as producing all related technical documentation.

  • Support WAN and Data Center operations and of handle Tier 2 request fulfilment, incident resolution as well as participating in the problem resolution and preventive maintenance activities related to WAN, Voice and Data Center network environment.

  • Provide stand-by services and overtime, when required.

  • Performing other duties, as required.


Required Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years experience working in large WAN or Datacenter environments.

  • Good knowledge of Cisco IOs, NX-OS, Cisco ACI.

  • Good knowledge of Data Center operations, including the management of Core and Distribution layer switches and routers.

  • Good knowledge of Wide Area Networks, including configuring different routing protocols.

  • Good knowledge of network security.

  • Good knowledge Firewalls, VPN, intrusion detection/prevention devices

  • Excellent knowledge of English (both written and verbal)

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of VMware NSX.

  • Experience in network management tools and practices.

  • Experience in automation and scripting techniques, preferably Ansible and other languages applied to Cisco environments.

  • Basic knowledge of voice and video over IP including voice transport, termination, and related Quality of Service.

  • Exposure to Information Security Management System (ISMS: ISO 27001), ITIL and ISO 20000 framework and other industry standard related best practices.
