Description:


The client uses Project Costing module in PeopleSoft Financials to track both inflows and outflows of funds. For the outflows, the modules has been labelled as GRIPS (Grants and Investment Projects System). GRIPS was launched in 2013 as a replacement for the Project Portfolio Management System (PPMS). It tracks all the key country information as well as project information up to Executive Board approval and subsequently the key project milestones and activities, including additional financing. This data is then available to be downloaded through reports in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI).

The scope of this role is to address gaps and issues wit the current Project Costing templates for Grants and Supplementary funds.


Duties and responsibilities:


The consultant will deliver technical solutions within the Project Costing module in PeopleSoft FIN.

The consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables within Project costing:

  • Creation of new singular template for grants using the basis of the financial instrument’s properties from the investment project template;

  • Modifications to the milestone path, particularly in relation to the milestones before EB approval; Note: Milestones after EB Approval should remain the same especially due to the synchronization from Flexcube to GRIPS at FI level.

  • New project types for the financing sources.

  • Link grants and investment projects to the related SFA ID(s) in the SFA system (at grant/project level and at FI level);

  • Means of tracking and displaying changes to financing structure through the project life cycle.

  • Once the new template has been finalised, an analysis will be done of the ongoing grant portfolio to identify any grants that would benefit from being converted to the new template. While the creation of the new grant IDs would be a manual exercise by OPR, technical support would be required for the grants IDs to be moved as FIs under the new grant IDs.

  • Modify the validation rules, as required.

Professional requirements


  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline with at least seven years of professional work experience in PeopleSoft development.

  • Experience of developing customized solutions to integrate with standard functionality in PeopleSoft.

  • Experience of both designing and executing technical solutions from business requirements.

  • Experience of being lead technical resource on a PeopleSoft project.

  • Experience of working directly with business teams to validate and document technical requirements based on the business needs.

  • Ability to document technical projects.


Technical Requirements:

  • MANDATORY: At least 6 years demonstrative experience of working with PeopleSoft FIN 9.X

  • MANDATORY: At least 6 years demonstrative experience implementing projects in Project Costing module

  • Extensive knowledge of People Tools 8.5x

  • Experience of implementing solutions in Project Costing module

  • Expert knowledge of PeopleCode, including application packages

  • Experience of approval workflow – creating new complex workflows

  • Experience of designing integration broker messages and component interfaces
