IdealStaffs Consulting is looking for a candidate with strong implementation, support and troubleshooting experience in large operational environments of Linux Support infrastructure.
As part of the Unix/Linux support, the consultant will provide on-going support and implement service enhancements, consisting of 1300+ unix based servers, and related services and will participate in the automation projects and tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Install and maintain Linux systems (Red Hat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, CentOS)
Implement configurations related to kernel, storage, security etc. as well as to standard tools for backup, monitoring and management
Propose and implement improvement on the environment
Perform regular OS patching activities
Identify and troubleshoot known problems and document solutions
Perform required tasks during maintenance windows & conduct periodic on call duties
Write and handover standard operations procedures to TIER1 support.
Strong experience with Linux system administration
Strong experience utilizing UNIX shell
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP stack
Experience with the common Linux service (Apache, MySQL, SMB, postfix, …)
Strong process automation and optimization skills
Scripting skills in tools such as Shell, Perl and Python
Systematic problem solving approach accompanied by a strong sense of ownership and drive
Proficient in English
5+ years of administering Linux systems
Experience with Puppet and similar management tools (e.g. Red Hat Satellite, RH IDM, etc.)
Experience with Solaris installation, configuration & management
Experience with containerization such as LXC and docker
Knowledge of Storage Area Networks, LAN, WAN and Internet technologies and protocols
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Atlassian (bamboo, bitbucket) and GIT
